Rod Lawler enjoys playing in PTC snooker events: 2012-13 Snooker Season
England’s Rod Lawler had an average run in the previous snooker season but in the new season he is giving the best of his skills to make it up to the expectations of his snooker fans. The Englishman likes to play in the Players Tour Championship (PTC) events
and enjoys his ride.
Speaking to Pro Snooker Blog in a recent interview, Lawler said, “I think that I played Mark Selby twice first game, Robertson twice, people like Nigel Bond, Tom Ford and Liang Wenbo. Every time that I got my cue out of my case, I really did have horror
draws.”
He added, “Hopefully from this point forward I can be competitive in the PTCs because I do enjoy them. I do enjoy the best of seven format, playing three matches in a day, but I just haven’t shown that on the table really, not until the first one this season
so hopefully I can enjoy more of them this season.”
Liverpool’s Rod Lawler has not been a convincing performer in the 2011-12 Snooker Season as he was unable to make any appearance in major or minor ranking snooker tournament. He tumbled down in the standings due to his poor performance in the previous snooker
season. He had to take part in the 2012 World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School) to get the two-year pro tour ticket.
The Englishman has been a consistent performer so far in the 2012-13 Snooker Season with some classy snooker display in the Players Tour Championship (PTC) events and the first major ranking snooker event of the new season, the 2012 Wuxi Classic snooker
tournament. Lawler is in good shape and is hoping for a positive run ahead in the season as he goes for the 2012 World Snooker European Tour.
The Englishman has no specific targets in the new snooker season and likes to play giving his best to his matches. He tried his best in the qualifying session of the 2012 Australian Goldfields Open and the 2012 Shanghai Masters snooker tournament but failed
to enter the televised stages of the event. His performance in the PTCs was also not up to the mark as he could only reach the third round.
