The former Germinal Beerschot coach has admitted that Steve McClaren’s side is far superior than his side, but has urged his side to stage a good show if they are to claim a good result.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roda-JC-c40375 Kerkrade head coach, Harm van Veldhoven, has expressed optimism ahead of his side’s clash against FC Twente Enschede at De Grolsch Veste on Saturday, March 31.
Despite admitting the fact that the Tukkers are a far superior side than De Koempels, the Dutch-Belgian trainer has urged his side to put in their hundred per cent if they are to claim a good result.
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 is a team with tremendous quality. They had a little bad patch, but it is now over. They have been playing good football in the recent weeks and are competing for the Eredivisie title”, Van Veldhoven was quoted as saying to Voetbal International.
The Enschede giants are currently placed third in the Eredivisie table, four points behind the league leaders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar. With seven matches yet to play, they have a bright chance of landing the Eredivisie title.
However, the Roda JC boss has insisted that his side can certainly dent the Tukkers’ title hopes if they stick to their own game and stage a good show in Saturday’s encounter.
“We must play our own game in Enschede, just like we played against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vitesse-c40905. Then we can surely surprise them”, Van Veldhoven added.
Although De Koempels away record this term is not impressive, the former Germinal Beerschot coach has expressed confidence that his side can see off the Tukkers.
“We have not played good football on the road, grabbing only seven points in 13 matches whereas we have managed to win 10 of 14 games at home. Nonetheless, we must achieve a good result in this match if we are to remain eighth on the table”, Van Veldhoven
concluded.
Occupying the eighth spot in the Eredivisie table, De Limburgers are a mammoth 14 points adrift of the Europa League direct qualification spot. However, should they manage to keep their position intact until the end of the 2011/12 campaign, they can certainly
eye to play in Europe’s second tier competition by winning the Europa League play-offs.
