Will Andy Roddick defend his title at Memphis in 2010? The world No. 7 enters the tournament fresh from defeat in the final of the SAP Open, where Fernando Verdasco was victorious. Verdasco is in the draw here too.

It’s a pretty similar field to the SAP Open, at least in the seeds, so Roddick should fare pretty well here. Radek Stepanek is a potential semi-final opponent, but Roddick had his measure at the Brisbane International final in January. In the other half of the draw, Verdasco and John Isner await as potential finalists – Isner, remember, beat Roddick at the 2009 US Open. There’s no reason Roddick can’t beat anyone here on his day to defend his title, but he’s no certainty to do so.
