Top seed Andy Roddick takes on fellow American James Blake in the first round at Memphis. Though he’s dropped out of the top 50, does Blake still present a threat to Roddick here?

Roddick could have faced easier opponents in the first round, but Roddick is in better form than Blake at the moment. Interestingly, Roddick holds the 6-3 advantage in their past matches, but Blake’s victories came in their three most recent encounters, the last one at Queens in 2009. Blake is very much a threat, but one which Roddick should be able to see off as he searches for his second title of 2010.
