  1. Too bad.He is a great player.Hope he gets better for Wimbledon.

  2. Not a big deal, although it woulda been nice to watch him his health is much more valuable because Wimby and The US are places where he can make big runs and possibly win (its a long shot i know bu t if Mardy fish can beat federer and nadal im pretty sure roddick can too even though he has a horrible history against him). Also Roddick has the American summer to look forward too which is where he gets a large amount of his points.

  3. That shoulder of his has been taking abuse for years now. That serve of his no joke. Get well Andy.

  4. He has always been prone to injuries due to his unususal and ferocious serving action. No surprise really.

    Get well Andy!

  5. It was really shocking when I saw it on ESPN because he's not playing for the US at the olympics and now he's not playing at Roland Garros, I thought man that sucks. But he mentioned something about his shoulder at his Davis Cup match. I'm sure his shoulder does take a beating because he has the most powerful serve in tennis. Hope he gets better though, he might fair better on grass though, he was always pretty good on grass.

  6. he wouldn't have done nay thing great in french open , but its still disappointing

  7. whats the point of turning up to the french open when he knows he will go back home humiliated in the 1st round by a qualifier anyway!

  8. It is sad but it is the wise thing for Andy, especially is record in the Rolland Garros, he has several first round defeats there

  9. Like it will make any difference even if he was fit to play at the French???

he might as well get some time off to prepare for wimbledon.

with Rafa, Djoker and Fed and all the other clay freaks out there, poor Roddick doesn't stand a chance..so does James Blake and Mardy Fish.

what ever happened to american tennis.

  10. i think its because of his shoulder or/and back injuries...

  11. this is not unexpected by any means, Roddick does not need to waste his time on the clay he does not stand a chance past the first week anyway, so might as well fix this muscle now and get it ready for Wimbledon where he will matter. Andy knows this is true. sides the muscle spasm he has is in his trapps and is very slow to heal properly. he can use the time off.

  12. An intelligent decision because he would have very little chance of winning Roland Garros with a bad shoulder.  It would already be tough enough with a good shoulder.  This way, he gives himself plenty of rest and gets himself ready for Wimbledon while Fed, Nadal, and Djokovic beat themselves up on the clay for two weeks.  Roddick is definitely gunning for Wimbledon and doesn't want to waste his energy on a tournament he has little chance of winning.

  13. Sucks!! I luv his game!!

    GEt Better, ANDY!!

Too bad we won't be able to catch him at RG :((

  14. hope he gets better will miss him!! hes like the most entertaining player personality wise.   whoever said he wudnt get past the first round doesnt know ****
