Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, believes there was no reason why http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jamie-Carragher-c17728 cannot go on for another couple of years, and he can still make a valuable contribution to the team.
Many believe that the 34-year old has reached the twilight of his career, after remaining a long time servant of the Merseyside outfit.
After beginning his football career in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 youth academy, the English International has gone on to cap a staggering 704 appearances for the Reds in all competitions, and has also scored 4 goals during this period.

However, with the affects of age clearly started to show in his game now, Carragher has now lost his status of being the Reds regular first-team member.
Even though he gets an occasional starting berth, he now plays second fiddle in the team’s defence.
Despite his limited participation off late, the Anfield boss insisted that Carragher has got a vital role to play in the Reds reinvigoration process.
He praised the meritorious services rendered by the defender for the cause of the club, and feels that there is still a lot of football left in him.
“He has been a stalwart at this club and was a regular until last season. But I've been so impressed by him on and off the pitch,” the 39-year old told the reporter.
“I think he can play on. He is one of the guys who is the soul of this club and there has to be a place for someone like him. Whether he wants to play on is up to him.”
The Northern Irishman is known to be a huge admirer of the Reds stalwart, and values his opinion as to how to take the club in the right direction.
Nonetheless, he prefers to start with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Glen-Johnson-c15050 in the backline – a decision he says is one of the most difficult ones that he has taken since taking over the Anfield throne.
“Seeing him work so hard and not giving him a shirt is the most difficult http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 I've got…Every day of his life he comes in and gives his all,” he added.
