Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers has expressed his exuberance on Luis Suarez’s decision of striking a new deal with the Merseyside club on Tuesday.
The prolific striker penned a new agreement with the Reds, offering his long term commitment to the club. The new terms of his contract will see him become one of the highest paid players at Anfield – a step viewed by many as being taken the club to hold
on to their luminary striker, given his outstanding form for the Merseyside outfit in the previous term.
Tipped by many to make a switch to the Serie A side, Juventus this summer, the Uruguayan International moved to signal out his loyalty towards Liverpool, by insisting that he plans on spending a lengthy career with the Reds.
The decision was welcomed by his manager, Rodgers who let out his glee on the player’s new deal with the club. He believed that Suarez was wary of the model that he was trying to execute at Anfield, and both of them were on the same page, on the methods
which need to be adopted to wriggle the Reds out of their current morass.
The Northern Irishman told the reporters in an interview, “Hopefully, he was able to see our vision going forward, in terms of what we're trying to do. I think he felt safe and secure at the fact that we look like we are heading in the right direction and
he's very happy to come with me on that journey.”
The 39-year old also unravelled that he was cognizant of the striker’s value to the team, terming him one of the best players in the world, and waxed lyrical about his unswerving commitment and never say die approach on the field.
“I think he's one of the top strikers in world football… He's a winner. He wants to win. This is a guy who, whether it's raining or there's sunshine or snow or hail, he's out on the field.”
Suarez, rated by many as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s best player last season, bagged 17 scalps during the entire 2011/12 campaign. Following his return to the squad upon the completion of his international commitments at the Olympic Games, he is expected to feature in the
Reds Europa League fixture against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Gomel-c39117 on the 9th of August at Anfield.
