The Reds manager, Brendan Rodgers admitted that Liverpool were in need of signing a couple of new players, in order to make up for those who have left the club this summer.
Since taking over the Anfield throne from the Kop legend Kenny Dalglish in June, the Northern Irishman has only managed to make a single signature – that of the Italian striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-Borini-c13163.
On the other hand, the Merseyside club have lost the services of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884 from Anfield this summer.
With the transfer window set to close on the 31st of August, the Ulsterman revealed that he was wary of the Reds requirements ahead of their new campaign. He admitted that it was pertinent on the part of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 to seek surrogates for the summer
exits, and claimed that steps were already been undertaken in this regard.
While talking to reporters, he said: “We need to make a number of signings before the window shuts in order to help the players already here. The loss of a few players has made the squad depth shallow, but a lot of hard work is going on behind the scenes
to bring in new faces.”
Rodgers arrival at Anfield came following the Reds calamitous previous season, under the management of Dalglish.
However, the 39-year old had nothing but charitable views about the Scott. He insisted that he took over the Merseyside club at a time when it was in shambles, and used his vast array of experience and managerial skills to put them back on track.
The manager then further added that it was his great desire to play a major role in the Reds revival, and vowed to do everything in his capacity to restore the ‘Liverpool Way’.
“My aim is to remember the greats of this club such as Kenny and those before him, to produce a team that not only wins but does so in a style which for generations has been known as ‘the Liverpool Way’.”
