Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers believes that the Reds tour of North http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 will serve as a perfect preparatory exercise for them ahead of the coming season. He also felt that it will provide an opportunity for all the club’s fans in that part of
the world to get close to their ‘heroes’.
The Merseyside outfit will go head to head against Toronto on 21st of July and will later square off against AS Roma and Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the month.
With the Reds 2012/13 campaign set to commence from the 18th of August in an away match against West Bromwich Albion, the Northern Irishman felt that his side’s visit to North America will be a huge boost for them going into the coming term.
He told the reporters in an interview, “I'm very much looking forward to it. It's a very exciting trip for the football club… it's part of our preparation in terms of our training and work to get ready for the new season.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 is scheduled to be played at Fenway Park on the 25th of July. The day will carry extra significance as it will also mark the 100th anniversary of the stadium.
When asked whether he was feeling the heat over delivering a result at the home of the Reds parent company, Fenway Sports Group, the 39-year old replied by negating the notion. He explained that since it was just a friendly game, he was feeling no pressure
whatsoever.
He also went on to praise the club’s owners for their dedication and commitment of taking Liverpool forward, and indicated that they offered him their full support as he looks to reverse the Reds fortune in this coming term.
“They (the owners) have been fantastic since the first day I met them. I think over the period of time, all the supporters and people will see they're going to be great value to this football club. They are very ambitious for the football club,” he added.
He then went on to claim that Liverpool have got a global audience and their visit to North America will give the club’s fans a chance to get even closer to their favourite players.
