The Northern Irishman came in the limelight, following his remarkable two-year stint at Swansea City. Under his tenure, he helped the Welsh club ascend into the top division, and also guided them to an eleventh-place finish last season. By doing so, he won
scores of admirers, given his achievements came despite having limited resources and a mediocre squad at his disposal.
After having completed his task at the Liberty Stadium, the 39-year old now faces the daunting challenge of helping the Merseyside outfit rediscover their lost glory.

Even though the situation might appear to be gloomy for many of the club’s fans, Rodgers thinks his side are good enough to stake their claim for a Champions League berth next term.
The Anfield boss appears to be cognizant of their financial limitations as compared to their English rivals. However, as he sets out to reverse the dreary situation at the club, he unravelled his plans of gaining ground on their rivals; not on the financial
front, but on the field.
He told the reporters in an interview, “The top four is certainly not something we'll shy away from… It's important that if you don't have the money, you have got to be different. That's the idea of trying to find a style. One of the ways in which we can
hopefully gain an edge is in how we play and control and dominate games.”
Although he was aware of the massive challenge in hand, the Ulsterman was also keen to dwell on the positives. He boosted about the talented bunch of players that he had at his disposal at Anfield, and felt that they have the ability to turn things around
very quickly.
He added, “I've got some wonderful players here, some world-class players, and I'm excited about the young players that are coming through.”
