The Reds made their second signing of the January transfer window with the capture of the Brazilian international from Italian side, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan. The attacking midfielder is considered as one of the best young midfielders in Europe
and could play a part in Liverpool’s revival in the second-half of the season.
The Merseyside giants completed the signing of the 20-year-old for an estimated fee of £8.5 million. This was the club’s second signing of the transfer window with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Sturridge-c10076 putting pen-to-paper earlier this month.
Brendan Rodgers admitted that Coutinho could turn out to be a great signing for the club and is optimistic that the player will be able to prove his worth in the coming months. He insisted that the Brazilian has great pace and
skill, and claimed that the player can be dangerous in front of goal.
“He's a wonderful talent and a great technician, he's got pace, strength and power. He's flexible - he can play in midfield or off the sides. He's a really exciting player and another great product to come into the league,” he
was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the manager was delighted with his side’s performance against Arsenal in the Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, January 30. Both sides drew 2-2 with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 giving away a two-goal lead
to earn a point in the end. Luis Suarez and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Henderson-c19102 scored for the visitors.
“We played http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 earlier on in the season and we were disappointing. I always felt this game would be a benchmark of how we've been progressing. It's a game we should have won - we didn't but we showed great resilience and quality
and had other chances to get other goals. I'm very proud of the team,” he concluded.
Liverpool are currently seventh on the Premier League standings table with 35 points from the 24 games played. They will next take on champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, February 3.
