http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s chances for a place in the top four in the standings table took another blow this weekend when they dropped two points against Sam Allardyce’s West Ham United at Anfield. The side had some great opportunities to score
in the game but some sensational defending from the away side’s back four denied the hosts the victory.
Brendan Rodgers admitted that his side is disappointed with the result considering the number of chances the players had to score. He stated that Liverpool deserved all three points from the game as they played extremely well.
However, the former Swansea City manager took nothing away from the away side and claimed that they were brilliant throughout the course of the game to make sure the hosts do not find the back of the net.
“We’re very frustrated that we didn’t get the three points. I thought we were more than deserving of it. We kept pushing from the very first minute. I thought our intent in the game was very good and some of our quality arrived
in good areas but you’ve got to give credit to West Ham. I thought they defended very, very well,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the tactician heaped praise on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philippe-Coutinho-c29936 and stressed that the young Brazilian has settled in very quickly at the club. He added that the player works really hard and has great creativity which the team
surely needs to progress. He has tipped the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan man to go a long way at the club and is confident that the team will make a strong comeback next week.
“He’s a wonderful technician and I think everyone admires his humility, how hard he works for the team. He always wants the ball and is prepared to put his body on the line to work and fight,” the manager concluded.
Liverpool FC will next take on Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday, April 13.
