Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers, has revealed that Luis Suarez will not be for sale in the January transfer window.
The Uruguayan International is believed to have caught the attention of Manchester City. Rumour is that the current title holders are preparing a whooping 40 million pounds bid for the striker, besides willing to offer him a lucrative wage deal.
The Reds prolific hit-man has been one of the hottest players in the competition thus far this season, notching up 11 goals in all competitions. He is currently tied with Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 as the Premier League’s highest goal scorer.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, who lost the services of scores of forwards during the summer and have been hit by a spate of injuries, are operating with just one recognized striker at the moment. Suarez has remained the lone warrior at times for the team who are languishing
in the bottom half of the table.
The Eastlanders have got a reputation of luring out world class players from their respective clubs by splashing the cash. Although they are expected to attempt that yet again with the Reds striker, Rodgers claimed that no offer will be good enough for him
to even think about letting go of Suarez.
The Ulsterman said that he plans on adding more players to the squad in the January window instead of trimming it, and praised the inspirational presence of the forward in the team.
“You'll have to ask http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323. If we lost Luiz then we've got no strikers, so I don't think I want to lose anyone,” he told the reporters.
“He's certainly not someone that we want to sell or move on. He's been a brilliant player to work with and we want to add to our squad, not take people out of it. Especially a world-class player.”
Earlier, in the previous term, Suarez was affiliated to some speculations suggesting him to be favouring a move to Paris Saint Germain and Juventus. However, he quashed all such surmises by signing a new long-term deal with the Merseyside club in the summer.
The Uruguayan attacker has bagged 31 scalps in his 67 appearances for Liverpool so far.
