The Liverpool FC manger has admitted that his side has improved massively in the last few weeks and is happy with the display against Manchester City
The Reds drew their second game in a row in the English Premier League as they ended the game 2-2 against champions Manchester City. The former European champions dominated the proceedings but were again unlucky on not being on
the winning side. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero found the net for the home side.
Brendan Rodgers claimed that it was an outstanding performance from his side and admitted that his team is going on the right track. The manager stated that the players were confident and there was a clear desire to win. He admitted
that his side deserved all three points from the game but sees the draw as a good result too.
“It was an outstanding performance at a notoriously difficult place for teams to even score a goal. I don't think they've conceded here [in 2013]. What was important for me was to see the confidence of the players, the desire,
the quality and the efficiency of their game. I don't think anyone would deny that we probably deserved to win that game,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to the club’s official website.
On the other hand, the former Swansea City manager admitted that his side has played most of the season well, but it has been the mistakes that have cost them. There was a mistake in the corresponding fixture also when Martin Skrtel’s
back pass cost his side when they were in the lead.
“The disappointing thing was that it typified our season, really, where we've been outstanding in our game and the model of our work but mistakes have cost us,” he concluded.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 have some relatively easy fixtures coming up in the next few weeks in the league and if they capitalise on them, there is a chance the team can qualify for the top four. Currently, the top four consists of Manchester
United, Manchester City, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Tottenham Hotspur.
