Despite getting humbled by the Baggies and realising the enormity of the task in hand, the Northern Irishman quashed the notion that his team had become complacent, following their win against the Belarusian outfit. He claimed that they viewed every game
as a different challenge, and was optimistic they will be able to re-gather themselves quickly.
“It's certainly something that I've noticed in my short time here, that they are allergic to complacency. There is no question about that. They focus every day and their concentration is good. They'll understand the size of the task in terms of coming here
and having to play well,” the 39-year old is reported to have said.
After losing out on the services of some of his players during the current transfer window, Rodgers is left with limited options with his playing-eleven. His selection woes further worsened by the suspension of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884, who picked up a red card during
their league opener.
However, the manager is set to field some of the youngsters against the Hearts, in order to rest out some of his key players for the crucial league fixture against Manchester City on Sunday.
“We've got a very small squad to be fair so I've got to try to protect some of the players. We played for over half an hour with 10 men on Saturday as well and we've got a massive game at the weekend.”
The former Swansea boss further added that although he will go all out to claim the Europa League title, his primary focus was on putting up a good show in the league.
