Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers praised the attacking duo of Andy Carroll and Raheem Sterling, following the Reds emphatic 3-1 win against Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday.

After witnessing the club’s rising prospect and 35 million pounds asset get on the score sheet, the Northern Irishman could not help but express his laudation for the duo following the match.
The former Swansea City boss was particularly impressed with the effort of Sterling, and believed that he was a world class player in the making.
While talking to the reporters, he said: “[He showed] the imagination and creativity that I love – the cut inside and a wonderful finish. The boy’s a talent with still a lot to do and a lot to learn but he's certainly shown over this pre-season he now worries
about the team and the responsibility.”
The burly Carroll has remained in the midst of speculations during the entire transfer window this summer, after being heavily linked to a move away from Anfield.
Clubs such as Newcastle United, West Ham United and Fulham have all expressed their interest in the striker, who has been viewed by Rodgers as a surplus to requirements at Merseyside.
However, that did not prevent the 39-year old from acknowledging his performance against the German outfit on Sunday. The Reds boss was all praise for him for displaying his potential and prowess, and also commended his goal scoring effort in the match.
He added, “Big Andy showed his skill and ability [with the goal]. He probably gets a bit of stick that he can't play this way but it was a wonderful piece of skill to let it go through his legs and get the shot on target and he tucked it away very well.”
