Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, was all praise for Luis Suarez, following his hat-trick against Norwich City at the Carrow Road on Saturday.
The Uruguayan International was in scintillating form, as he fired a treble to help his side record their first league win of the season.
The win on Saturday pulled the Reds out of the relegation zone. They now have 5 points out of their first 6 games.
Suarez, who also scored a hat-trick against the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 ahead in the second minute through a well placed shot in the bottom left-corner.
After missing a simple one-on-one chance, the striker struck again, only seconds later, to put his side in command.
He followed it up with a peach of a goal to put the game beyond all doubt, helping his team bring to a halt their toilsome start to the campaign.
Following the game at the weekend, the Ulsterman hailed the inspirational presence of the 25-year old upfront.
Nonetheless, he felt that the entire team deserves credit for their maiden league win this term, and that Suarez was ‘terrific’ in the frontline.
“The team, first and foremost, is the star. We were very good,” he told the reporters.
“His first one was a terrific finish. His second pays a lot to him mentally… his third one, he’s chopped back inside and finished it into the corner.”
The final scoreline (5-2) could have been even more emphatic for the Reds, had it not been for poor refereeing.
Suarez was clearly brought down inside the box by Leon Barnett during the first half, but the match official, Mike Jones, did not see it that way.
The Northern Irishman reiterated his point that the striker was victimized yet again by the referee due to his reputation, and lashed out at the officials for their double standards.
“There’s no doubt he doesn’t get the verdicts in the games that he should get. If Valencia’s is a penalty last week with barely any contact then surely Luis Suarez’s is today,” he added.
The win came as a silver lining for Rodgers, as his side takes on Stoke City at Anfield this coming weekend.
