Rodgers, who has got complete backing from the club’s owners and legends, has already drawn a lot of expectations from the fans and supporters, who saw their team experience their worst league campaign in almost 60 years last season.
However, the former Reading boss admitted he is going to exercise his new ideas and philosophy at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, but refused to make promises of an overnight transformation.
He told the club’s official website, “For me it is going to take time for how I want to play and the philosophy I want to introduce. My longer-term aim is to arrive here seeing how quickly we can do so.”
He opined that the performance of a team was solely dependent on the quality and depth of the squad, and mentioned that he will carry out a close assessment of the players in order to analyse whether reinforcements are needed in summer or not.
The prime target which Rodgers will be expected to meet in the coming term will be to return Champions League football at Anfield.
The Irishman admitted securing results will be the only indicator of any progress being made, but stressed the need to lay down a strong foundation at first.
He continued, “It is about results and the progress of the team but we will make our first steps and hopefully that will improve over the next few years.”
He went on to say that he will seek full commitment from all his players to help change the current gloomy situation at Anfield and vowed to give it his all for the cause of Liverpool.
He added, “You make sure in training and on match days you come in and you can take your top off and wring it out and it will be soaking wet.”
