The boss at Anfield, Brendan Rodgers has unearthed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884 has no plans of parting ways with Liverpool, as the defender was really excited about playing under his new model.
The Danish International has remained in the midst of rumours linking his move away from Merseyside this summer. Clubs such as Manchester City and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 are believed to be in the transfer market for the prolific centre-back, with the former even reported
to have put up a 20 million pounds offer for him.
However, the proposal was spurned by Brendan Rodgers, who is not willing to accept anything short of 25 million pounds for the player.
With the entire situation rife with uncertainty, the Northern Irishman moved to dispel the impression that Agger wants a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 exodus. He claimed neither the club nor the defender wanted him to leave, and that he was really excited about fitting into
the new set-up.
While talking to reporters, he said: “The first point is we don't want to sell him. Secondly, I believe he will be a player who will thrive in this way of working and thirdly he doesn't want to leave - which is a great help as well.”
The 27-year old was signed by the Merseyside club from Brondby IF in January 2006, making him then the most expensive player sold by a Danish outfit. Since then, he went on to cap 167 appearances for the Reds, scoring 9 goals and also picking up 8 assists
during this period.
Ever since the Ulsterman took over the Anfield reins in June, he has tried to reach out to all the players in the squad, in order to explain to them the playing model that he was looking to introduce at the club. He explained that he was lifted by the positive
response from Agger, who wants to play a role in his revolution.
“He made that clear in the very first conversation we had that he wanted to be part of our revolution here in terms of moving forward and he hasn't wavered from that in any single way whatsoever,” he added.
