Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers spoke out in favour of the Reds under-fire midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Henderson-c19102, insisting that the 22-year old possessed an ‘incredible’ playing attitude.
The Merseyside club bought the English International in June 2011 from Sunderland for a transfer fee believed to be in the range of 17 million pounds. However, the player struggled to justify his expensive price tag during his debut season for the Reds,
and was heavily criticised for making no impact whatsoever at Anfield.
Henderson’s apparent struggles coupled with the goal drought of striker Andy Carroll posed question marks over the club’s decision makers for spending lavishly on the inexperienced duo. Consequently, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 fired their Director of football, Damien Comolli
during the previous term in view of the failure of his signings to deliver results.
In total, the midfielder made 48 appearances for the Reds and netted just 2 goals.
However, the former Swansea boss viewed the whole scenario from a different perspective, as he felt that being his first season and all, he required time to attune himself to the club’s culture of football.
“He's coming to a massive club and massive expectation. He moves away from home, he is on his own and he has to be a world beater straight away. It was never going to happen.”
Despite his stumbling form in the Premier League, Henderson received an international call up from national manager, Roy Hodgson for the recently held European Championships at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032.
Having seen the midfielder play at both the club and international level, the Northern Irishman assessed that the player has got no shortage of talent. He believed that given the 22-year old is provided with the opportunity to flourish under a certain system,
he can go on to do wonders for his team and hailed his excellent playing attitude.
“If you have got a player like that who has got the ability and the thirst to learn - he can run all day, he is physically good, he is strong, he is quick - and you can remodel him.”
