Newly appointed Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wrote a letter in one of the leading newspapers in Wales, in which he mentioned that he decided to part ways with Swansea City in order to assume the management of one of the most prestigious clubs

Rodgers was publicly unveiled as the new manager at Anfield on Friday last week, as the Reds finally managed to find a replacement for the Kop legend Kenny Dalglish. He remained in charge of the Swans for almost 17 months, propelling them back to the top
division from the Championship and helped them finish the league table at an impressive eleventh position at the end of the 2011/12 season.
Regarding his decision to switch to Anfield, Rodgers stated in the letter: “The chance to manage one of the world's great footballing institutions doesn't come around very often in a manager's life and, after two approaches, I have decided to take up the
professional challenge.”

Rodgers mentioned he took over the reins of the Swans in order to inspire people and to introduce an exciting brand of football at the club, so as to make the fans proud of their team and city.
He added, “In the years ahead, you, the most important people at the club, will decide if I achieved those dreams, but the journey for me has been one I will never forget.”
Following Rodgers departure from the Welsh club, the managerial seat at the Liberty Stadium is currently lying vacant.
The Irishman stated that he decided to leave at a time when Swansea were taking big strides towards improvement, and was hopeful the new manager will be able to take the club to a next level.
He added, “The next manager will come in and look to keep the club moving forward and your support for him will be as important as it was for me to ensure continued success.”
He went on to say that Swansea will remain in his heart for the rest of his life, and expressed his desire to make a return some time in future.
