Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers has insisted that he is not prepared to let go of, Andy Carroll, despite Newcastle United’s recent overtures for the player.
The English International has remained in the midst of rumours and speculations throughout the transfer window, as he was initially deemed surplus to requirements at Anfield by the Northern Irishman. However, following the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dirk-Kuyt-c11348 and Craig
Bellamy, the manager started to have second thoughts about selling the sturdy striker, keeping in view the limited depth of his squad.
According to reports, Newcastle and West Ham United have effectively sought Carroll’s signature this summer, with the former having offered a season-long loan deal to the Merseyside outfit, followed by his permanent signing at the end of the season.
Even though the Ulsterman was initially keen on off loading the 23-year old, he now views him as an integral part of his plans. He revealed that sending Carroll out on a season-long loan at the Sports Direct Arena was not an option for him anymore, and he
is now looking to hold on to the player till at least January.
He told the reporters in an interview, “We have got a very small squad as it is. We have lost a lot of players this summer and I have not replaced them, as of yet. That is the reality of where we are. I need a minimum of three strikers. Once the window shuts,
that is it until January.”
Rodgers has signed Joe Allen and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-Borini-c13163 this summer, but still felt that he needs to bring in more reinforcements, in order to mount a challenge for a top-four finish this season.

However, the 39-year old revealed the striker will need to undergo some fitness tests prior to the game, before he can confirm his availability.
“We will see what his response is over the next 24 hours. If he is available and then fit, he will start,” he added.
