Rodrick Jabin clinches quick lead of 2012 Farr 40 East Coast Championship – Sailing News
American Farr 40 boat, Ramrod had a tremendous start as its skipper, Rodrick Jabin made his way straight to the top podium place of the Farr 40 fleet standings with 11 points after taking part in three races on the opening day.
The American sailor performed convincingly and was able to claim the leading spot despite the fact the he did not clinch any bullet during his first day campaign. The US sailor, along with his crew members, clinched two third finishes
in the first two races and a fifth podium place in the third to compile 11 points.
Speaking to the local media after taking the lead, Jabin said that they are very happy to hit the lead at this stage but getting an early lead was surely not easy for them.
He also commented on the fact that he did not have time to learn how to set the new sails before the race. However, he was confident of putting in a good performance during the race.
The weather conditions on the Annapolis waters were quite ideal and the sailors had a complete liberty to launch their boats in open waters and have a perfect sail. The upcoming races will be more interesting to watch as the teams
are quite determined to clinch the title.
