No I don't want to jinx it, h**l I think he has a shot to retire #1, but will this streak last forever or what?

It's currently 17, how much longer is it going to stretch out? And will Federer ever get dropped before a Grand Slam semifinal??

  1. I hope it is forever as well.  Roger is amazing player and maybe in France we appreciate this more than some other country who are afraid of him.  As he plays is amazing and we love him when he is playing. We pray hard for him to win. Must pray more!

  2. It's quite an impressive streak that he has and once again another record that he owns which pretty much proves how great he is. Like you, I really hope that he can maintain this semifinal run at the majors for as long as he can. It reminds me of the 13 consecutive Grand Slam finals that Steffi Graf advanced to from the 1987 French Open to the 1990 French Open.

  3. There's only two things that will make Federer lose the streak. Which are either when he's like maybe 65yearsold or if when he retires.

He's gonna be number 1 till his out of the game

  4. No disrespect to Federer, but this is one of those made up records that is absolutely useless.  How many people can name who is #2 and #3 on that list?  It was really funny when Navratilova mentioned that she's had more, and the commentators were surprised.  This record will be very quickly forgotten and will not be brought up again unless someone else has a streak.

With all that said, it's incredible that he's done it for more than 4 years in a row now.  I do think that eventually it'll come to an end and regardless of his age at that time, it will be called one of the biggest upsets ever.

  5. Fed is the greatest that ever lived and played the game. That streak is golden. It just further proves that he is the best all round on all surfaces. s***w Borg and his jinx, Rafa is King of Clay but Fed is #2 and that's that. On hard, indoor, carpet, and grass Fed is King. And even if he let's Rafa win now and then he still would make Finals.

I'll say he makes it to 30 GS semi's or better.

  6. It really is one of the great "streaks" in sports. Sampras never did it even though he ended up # 1 for 6 years in a row.

It just goes to show what a great all around player Federer is.

I hope it continues. Realistically it can. With the top 3 players in any event (Roger, Rafa, and Djoko) seeded 1,2 & 3, if they perform well, they have a better chance at getting to the semis than most of the rest of the field.

I really hope Roger can get at least the additional 2 slams to match Pete's record. It would take some of the pressure off his game, not to mention Rafa on his heels.

  7. lets just hope for the best for the best :D!!

  8. I don't think it'll happen again.
