Roger Federer hits 10 million facebook fans – Tennis News
Former world number one, Roger Federer, has achieved yet another milestone in his life. He has struck ten million fans on his official facebook page; catching up to the Swiss Maestro is the Spanish number one, Rafael Nadal.
Federer was questioned on this update and he stated, “I don't know if the 10 million are on live score or watching my match, but I definitely feel the great support by my followers and social network, [and] how they're into it.”
He was still in Dubai when this news caught hype and media representatives were eager to know his comments on this landmark.
He has won two successive titles in the recent past; Rotterdam and Dubai. It is good to know that the Swiss legend is back in form having lost just three matches in New Year. He has won 18 matches this season and that consist of
ten match unbeaten run that is still intact.
He defeated the number one Briton, Andy Murray, in the finals of the Dubai Duty Free Championships on Saturday to clinch his 72nd title of the career. He is the only man in the history of tennis to have won five titles
in Dubai; dethroned the three times successive champion, Novak Djokovic. Earlier, he ousted the Argentine tennis ace, Juan Martin Del Potro, in the final of ABN AMRO in Rotterdam to bag the title to his name.
Talking about his new record of hits and likes on facebook and his personal website, he stated, “My website has been up and running since a long time. The fans have been really so supportive of me and [are] always present in the
stadium and showing their colours and support.”
The Swiss Maestro is not fond of updating his status, uploading photos and videos of his daily life. He is a very reserved person and don’t like a lot of attention at once. It might be a bit frustrating for his fans to know of
his daily life routine and his journey’s updates but it is working well at the moment. Probably he is old to be addicted to such a technology that is a lifeline for the people in their teens and 20’s.
Nadal is also moving up the ladder with 9.9 million fans of facebook and is probably going to take over the legend at some point of his career. His off court gestures, like the Swimsuit edition of model-athlete photo shoot with
Bar Refaeli, sky-rocketed his following on facebook as well as on twitter.
