Roger Federer keeps on winning
The Stockholm Open tennis tournament is sailing smooth and the tennis living legend from Switzerland Roger Federer has secured victory in his nine hundredth singles match at the Stockholm United by thrashing his twenty-nine year old American rival, Taylor
Dent.
Roger Federer played tremendously well in the match and made his opponent suffer pretty convincingly.
Very recently Roger Federer had expressed his views about his future plans, in which he said that he wants to end this year by winning every tournament and usurping the World number one title from the Spaniard Rafael Nadal.
Now it seems like Swiss veteran was very right about his thoughts and his recent performance against Taylor Dent was vital proof of his eagerness.
Federer saw off Dent in just forty-nine minutes. The two setter battle between the Swiss current World number two and American current World number ninety-three was pretty convincing for Federer and not less than a nightmare for the American.
Dent seemed completely out of touch and failed to give a strong response to Federer. The sixteen times Grand Slam winner settled the brawl by 6-1 6-2.
After playing the nine hundredth match and winning it marvellously it has given him a new inspiration for playing in the hundred more matches. Currently he has won seven hundred and twenty-seven matches and has lost one hundred and twenty-three matches during
his glittering career.
Federer is going to face his compatriot tennis ace, Stanislas Wawrinka in his next match. It is also to be notified that the world number twenty, Stanislas has been Federer’s doubles partner in the Olympics and Federer is very well aware of Wawrinka’s stronger
and weaker points of the game.
The match against Wawrinka is expected to be a tough match for the Swiss champ. When Federer was asked about the matter he expressed his thoughts and told the media and said that playing against Wawrinka is not easy as he is a very tough rival.
Federer added that the twenty-five year old has beaten him and some of the other top tennis players as well and playing against him has never been easy for any one.
Federer praised the game of Stanislas and said that he is a very good friend of Stanislas and is very well aware of his strong capabilities. He added that the match against Wawrinka is going to be an exciting and challenging match.
In the other important matches of the tournament the current World number five Robin Soderling hammered his German rival Benjamin Becker. Soderling showed his class and talent really well and totally outclassed the German in the two setter match. The Swedish
ace snatched the victory 6-3 6-3. Soderling will now face the twenty-seven year old German, Florian Mayer in his next match.
On the other hand the thirty-one year old tennis ace from Croatia Ivan Ljubicic saw off his French rival Arnaud Clement by 6-3 6-4. In another match of the tournament the American talented tennis player James Blake seemed to be in better form while playing
against his German rival Matthias Bachinger.
The victory of the current World number one hundred and seven Blake is no doubt very special for him as he has been suffering from a very bad playing form and his previous disappointing performances had made him more frustrated.
Blake secured the important win after a very challenging three setter battle of tennis. During the match the unseeded Bachinger gave Blake a pretty strong challenge but the American used his experience brilliantly and clinched the success 6-4 3-6 7-6. Blake
will now face Jarkko Nieminen of Finland in his next match of the event.
The Stockholm Open tennis tournament is in full swing and players like Roger Federer are enough to make this tournament thrilling and full of action. As a fan of tennis we should keep our fingers crossed for the upcoming matches of the tournament.
