Roger Federer never thought of such a world class career ever – Tennis News
World number one, Roger Federer, recently grabbed his seventh Wimbledon Championships at All England Lawn Tennis Club on the eve of Sunday against the number one Briton, Andy Murray, who was the fourth seed superstar in the tournament.
However, the Swiss Maestro has confessed the fact that he never thought of achieving so much acclaim in the field of tennis. It was his 17th Grand Slam title that reinstated him as the number one player in the world.
He cited in an interview, “I saw them this (Monday) morning and I asked them if they remembered yesterday (Sunday). One said ‘no’, but the other, ‘yeah — the clapping. I do not know how other three-year-olds may understand, but
mine almost understand the difference between a match and practice. Winning and losing, they don’t quite get that yet.”
If the legendary tennis icon continues to grace the sport of tennis like this, he will be an invincible power in the world of tennis at the age of 30; something that only happens once in a lifetime. Such a player is only witnessed
once in a century and if he manages to win a gold medal at the Olympics Championships later this summer, it will be a perfect tennis career for a player; something that is just a dream for a normal professional player. The amount of success Federer has achieved
in his professional career is just incredible.
Mirka Federer and her two cute daughters witnessing Federer lift his seventh Wimbledon title was the best memory for the Swiss tennis ace. He stated, “My kids see me lift the trophy. I was almost shocked in the moment itself that
it all came together so nicely for me.”
He further added, “My whole career, I never thought I would be that good. I was considered a big talent, I was considered good in Switzerland first.” He enjoyed a good time with his family and her lovely kids were enthralled by
their legendary father’s performance at the grass courts of London. Let’s hope more players raise to the standards of Federer and grace tennis with mesmerizing skills.
