Roger Federer pens down a new four-year deal with Nationale Suisse – Tennis News
World number one, Roger Federer, has extended the contract with Nationale Suisse Company for four more years. The deal was pinned before the commencement of the Basel Open in which the Swiss hero is participating as the top seed defending champion. The 31-year-old Swiss is enjoying an emphatic run of form this season and regained the lost throne from the second ranked Serb star, Novak Djokovic, after bagging the seventh Wimbledon Championships title of his career at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
Federer commented on the extension of the contract, “Nationale Suisse has been a loyal partner and the collaboration with them has been amazing. They were one of the first companies that believed in me and I am excited to continue to work with them and be part of their family for the years to come."
Hans Künzle, Chief Executive Officer of Nationale Suisse stated in a press conference, “We are proud to have been able to extend our successful partnership with Roger Federer for a further four years.” The global tennis star and philanthropist embodies the corporate values of the Swiss insurer: “personal, successful and caring.”
Federer has reached eight finals in the current season; winning six of them that includes the conquest of ABN AMRO in Rotterdam, Dubai Duty Free Championships, BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells, Mutua Madrid Open, Wimbledon Championships and Western & Southern Open at Cincinnati. He failed to win the gold medal at Olympics; falling to the third ranked British superstar, Andy Murray. Other player who deprived the Swiss legend from winning the title was Tommy Haas of Germany who won in front of the home crowd during the Gerry Weber Open at Halle.
It has been a successful season for the 31-year-old Swiss. No wonder he has been awarded a new contract by Nationale Suisse Company. Moreover, the legendary tennis icon is looking to advance into the year-end finale at London with some hope of repeating the heroics once again. He loves playing in O2 arena at London which is supposed to be the most prestigious stadium in the world of tennis.
