I am a fan of Roger Federer. I know he is a great tennis player. I know he is a good sportsman (he won sportsman of the year). He show respect to Rafael Nadal, he was polite in defeat. However, he is human. Do you think that maybe inside he really hate Nadal? He won't say it of course because he is just too smart to be rude but without Nadal he would of won 3 French open and already break Pete Sampras record. What do you think? and be honest.

  1. Well Federrer is a realy genteleman and I think that he respects Nadals. Of course it is natural to want to win the French open especially how close he is to it and to making history

  2. Yeah, I reckon that somewhere inside he wishes that Nadal wasn't around. I can't  believe he won the French Open again!!

  3. Yes, its quite possible that deep down inside Federer wishes Nadal wasnt around. I mean come on, Nadal is the only person standing between Federer and his claim to being the best tennis player to have ever stepped foot on the court. Federer has lost to Nadal in the last 3 finals of French. If it wasnt for Nadal, Federer would have those 3 French opens and his tally would be 15 and he would be the greatest player of all time who won all Grandslams multiple times.

  4. Well, I don't think Roger Federer hates Rafa, 'cause between the two players there is a very strong friendship. I watched on Tv last week a interview to Rafa where he said Roger F. is very strong, but very friendly...In fact they usually meet to playing or simply to talking...bye bye ciau

  5. If Federer loses to Nadal in one more RG final you won't see Federer equipped with a racquet in their subsequent RG Finals...

  6. First of all, if Nadal does not exist, Federer would won 4 French open (RG 05 he lost to Nadal in semi, but i don't think Puerta could beat Fed)..

Well, of course, he is still human... But let me answer this question with another question..

Do you think that Federer wished that Nadal doesn't exist?

In my opinion, absolutely no... I'm a big fan of Nadal, but i respect Federer a lot (like once Roddick said about him, "i'd like to hate you, but you're just too nice", LOL), and i think he is a great champion.. And a great champion won't wish for that... Yes, he "hate" Nadal, why wouldn't he? but, he hate him as in opponent on the court, not in person..

And, to sum up, when federer beat nadal in Final RG, with the best of him and Nadal of course, even only once, he will be the greatest tennis player, ever.. And it's because the existence of Nadal, one of the greatest clay courter in history..

  7. i don't think hate is the right word for it, maybe he envy rafa for winning roland garros, when he's failed to it, but i don't think he means wrong for rafa.-

  8. No, no and again no! They pull up each other in every tournament. Believe me they love each other. The tennis is so interesting because exists unpredictable players like Federer Nadal, Jokovich, Davidenko and many others. Each of them seek for a better opponent to make and measure the progress in his game. They are no goods but they play incredible and beautiful. They are great heroes and write the history of tennis. Don't hate them try to play like them!

  9. It is human nature to hate someone or something.  I don't necessarily think he hates Rafael Nadal, but I think he hates the fact that he's lost to him so many times.  Federer is a great player and will be so in the history, but I wouldn't give him the "greatest player ever" title when someone else holds are higher W-L like Nadal does over him.  He doesn't quite dominate Nadal so as much as everyone else would refer to Roger as the greatest player, Nadal might prove everyone else wrong otherwise.  Nadal is only 22.  If he doesn't win any other slams cuz he's not comfortable in those surfaces as he is on clay....at least he can still win 3-4 French open I think.  Nadal may not be able to earn the title the greatest player but he certainly win the title "king of clay".  I hate it when they compare the Bjorgs or Lavers and the others to the current players cuz there's just no comparison.  Even their younger version cannot compete with the young players today.

  10. I could see him being really frustated with Nadal, but not hating him. It's just unfortunate for Roger that he is trying to beat someone who grew up playing on Clay his entire life, so he does have an advantage over Roger at the French Open.

  11. Why should he? Everybody wants to set a record too. Were it not for him,Nadal would have pocketed two Wimbledon titles by now!!

  12. hate is a strong word. Roger can't hate Rafa becase what's the use of it. Rafa in return can be envious of Federer for amassing so much slams--but not that much yet to beat Sampras. Roger is only arrogant about being number 1 for he has the right to be one also. Federer was supposed to be humbled also for his defeat at RG for afterall, he won only one tournament (Estoril) since the start of the year, right?

Without Novak Djokovic, Roger would have won the Aussie also. But Tennis life must go on... All the number ones would sooner or later be replaced anyway...

  13. French Open was a very VERY sad final to watch!!! I think it is written on Federer's face that he simply cannot hate anyone !!! -))))Wimbildon  is comming up ..... I'll cross my fingers for Rodger !

  14. Of course he doesn't. He may be just a little bit wondering and courious, why so hard for him to beat Nadal on clay. I think the same think applies for Nadal in term of hardcourt and grass. No reasons for them to hate each other. ANother example, I don't think Venus hates Serena because she defeated her 5 times in grand Slam final, and if not because of Serena she would have collected 11 Grand Slam titles. That's the beauty of sports, right? Rivalry!

  15. well it's a competition, he sure has no luck in french open. but he's number one so i think it's not bad after all. He must be frustrated but i don't think he's hating rafa

  16. Tough to say, but I don't think he thinks about Nadal too much.  The only reasons why a player would perhaps hate another player is if the player is a cheater; i.e, suspicious injury time-outs, or has said something bad about the player is a press conference.

Roger is number one in the world, so why should he hate Rafael personally?  I really think that Roger has other things to worry about in his life like counting all of his millions.

  17. I think there is some kind of a grudge deep down.............

  18. no
