“I’ve heard so much about Abu Dhabi and it’s a place I’ve always wanted to see for myself and play here with some top competitors,” said the high flying Serb who is making a debut in this event.
World number two Rafael Nadal is also returning to defend this title. He won titles here twice, is eagerly waiting for this tournament. “Having seen the strength of the field, I’m already looking forward to a serious test and defending
my title,” said Nadal.
The Spanish number one also received a bye into the semi-finals after lifting the title here in its last edition.
Another Spaniard joined the list of the top tennis players who participated in this exhibition event. David Ferrer is seeded fourth here and he grabbed two titles this season.
The top French duo, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gael Monfils will complete the list of top six players entering at the Mubadala Tennis Championship.
The Swiss Ace will face the winner of the match between top seed Djokovic and the sixth seeded Monfils.
