Roger Federer terms the upcoming season more challenging
The Swiss veteran tennis star, Roger Federer is aiming for a strong challenge from his arch rival Rafael Nadal in the upcoming tennis season. According to the Swiss star, Nadal will give him a strong challenge in the next season as well.
The twenty nine year old living legend Federer is of the view that the recent defeat of Rafael Nadal in the final of World Tour Finals has made him more eager and motivated for the next season of tennis. Federer thrashed Nadal in the match to snatch the
sixty sixth tennis title for him.
Federer also aims to usurp the world number one title but he is still more than three thousand points behind the current world number one Spaniard. So, it is important that Federer keeps his winning streak alive.
Federer is now eyeing to defend his Australian Open title in January next year. In an interview, the twenty nine year old elaborated on his plans for the next year, saying that he is hopeful that next year will bring a new glory to his tennis career. He
added that the upcoming tennis season will be more exciting as the level of game has increased to a higher extent.
Regarding the Australian Open, the former world number one stated that the situation will be intense for him as defending the title would not at all be an easy task. Federer said that Rafael has been playing superbly and he has not won an Australian Open
title yet so he will surely be eyeing the title in the upcoming season.
While talking about the game of the Spanish world champ Rafael Nadal, Federer said that Nadal is in good form and playing against him is never easy. He continued by saying that he(Federer) is happy with the way he has finished the season by beating the current
world number one in the finals and is delighted about the fact.
No doubt Federer is in good shape and his current playing form is at the top level. Winning the title in a tournament which comprises the top eight players is no doubt special because the level of competition was pretty high at the World Tour Finals event.
