Roger Federer to miss out Miami, Monte Carlo and Basel events in 2013 – Tennis News
Former world number one, Roger Federer, unleashed very disappointing news for the tennis fanatics on the eve of Tuesday; he is not going to take part in the next edition of the Sony Ericsson Open at Miami and skip the tournament
to create such a schedule that will reduce the chances of injury and fatigue for the Swiss Maestro. No player is allowed to skip such tournament but considering the number of accomplishments and milestones that has been recorded by the 31-year-old Swiss, he
is allowed to play the tournament he likes and skip the rest.
The tour of Miami is not the only event that will be missed by the second ranked Swiss. He will not take part in the Masters event at Monte Carlo and the home based tournament in Basel which featured him for the first time as a
ball boy. However, Federer is not going to skip any Grand Slam Championship that is naturally the biggest aim for any tennis player.
The schedule of Federer has been launched by for the next season and it is as follows:

Australian Open, Melbourne ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament, Rotterdam Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, Dubai BNP Paribas Open, Indian Wells Mutua Madrid Open, Madrid Internazionali BNL d’Italia, Rome Roland Garros, Paris Gerry Weber Open, Halle Wimbledon, London Rogers Cup, Montreal Western & Southern Open, Cincinnati US Open, New York Shanghai Rolex Masters, Shanghai BNP Masters, Paris
It is unlikely for the Swiss legendary professional to miss out the Barclays Association of Tour Professionals World Tour Finals but Federer has to retain the ranking amongst the Top-8 player to confirm his attendance at the O2
Arena in London, the place that has yielded him 41 wins and six year-end titles altogether. However, the inclusion of the Spanish superhero, Rafael Nadal, in the draws of the next season tournaments will make it tough for the Swiss Maestro to sustain the domination
that actually broke up towards the end of the current season. Reigning world number one, Novak Djokovic, dethroned him to clasp the maiden year-end title which was a shocking news for Federer fans.
