Djokovic defeats Federer in the final – Barclay ATP World Tour Finals

Reigning world number one, Novak Djokovic, contested against the Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer, in 29 matches in total. Recently, the two challengers faced each in the fifth meeting of the season at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals
in London, England.
The Serbian number one snatched his second season-ending trophy and the sixth title of the year. The six times champion, Federer, struggled hard to secure the lead but he received a straight sets defeat by his Serbian juggernaut.
Djokovic gave his Swiss challenger an absolute shocker in nearly one hour and 15 minutes, consolidating 7-6(6), 7-5 in front 263, 229 audience at the glorious O2 Arena.
In a post match interview, Djokovic told the media, “It's very satisfying for my team and myself to conclude this fantastic season with a [Barclays ATP] World Tour Finals win. I never got to the finals of this tournament in London.
The furthest I got is semi-finals a couple years ago where I lost straight sets to Roger. I wasn't really feeling this surface very well in past couple of years. But this year has been different. I got motivated, got a little bit more physically fresh. I wanted
really to fight and I really wanted to get as far as I can in this tournament.”
The 25-year-old Serbian is the ninth player to secure the title twice. In 2008, he outmuscled Nikolay Davydenko held in Shanghai, China. He summed up his current season, marking a 75-12 remarkable match record.
Federer defeats Djokovic in the final round - Western and Southern Open
31-year-old Swiss is the first player of Open Era, bagging home his fifth Cincinnati Masters trophy. He penned down a straight-set defeat to the Serbian rival, 6-0, 7-6(7), at the Western and Southern Open final round.
The Swiss professional adopted a very proactive game plan and took the upper hand by winning the opening set after a tough fight. In the second set, the Serbian jumped out of excitement when he squared the score line to 5-all This
aroused an alarming situation for the right-hander Swiss participant. He skilfully fired a powerful forehand and terminated the match within two hours and 14 minutes.
Federer played like a cool solid rock against his opponent maintaining a powerful serve precision. He dominated with his efficiency, putting pressure at the critical moments in the match. On the other hand, Djokovic committed several
double faults and was unable to attain his rhythm. He completely lost track in the end, as he surrendered to the Swiss player’s destined win.
