Roger Federer wants to end the summer season with an Olympic Gold – Tennis News
World number one, Roger Federer, grabbed his seventh Wimbledon title on the eve of Sunday at the expense of the fourth ranked British, Andy Murray. He will be back at the All England Lawn Tennis Club at the end of July to start another thrilling campaign
for a gold medal in Olympics.
He is bidding to win his maiden singles gold medal in the London Olympics and if he manages to accomplish this goal, the glorious moment will definitely round off his fantastic summer season on grass courts.
London was chosen the venue for the latest edition of Olympics, an event that is conducted four-yearly. Since then Federer is waiting for the moment to achieve the glorious moment of his life; something he has never been able to do throughout his entire
legendary career. However, the Swiss Maestro knew little that he will be entering the event of Olympics as the top ranked player in the world and the reigning Wimbledon Champion.
In the previous three editions of the Olympics Championships, Federer has been unable to register a golden glory so the rack of titles is still missing something major, something that has always enhanced the flare of winning the record number of Grand Slams.
Federer commented on his ideology towards Olympics and stated, “I do believe my situation has that little star next to it. Now the Olympic gold is a dream for me. I am now the Wimble-don champion. That gives me even more confidence coming to the Olympics.
Maybe in some ways it takes the pres-sure off the Olympics because I already did win at Wimble-don this year so that's a good thing. Of course there is a lot of hype around me playing at the Olympics this year round. I believe I can handle the pressure but
the Olympics is a different animal because you only do get an opportunity every four years.”
He wants to have a lucky draw that will help him go through the initial stages without any trouble at all. With some momentum and thumping triumphs under the belt, Federer has the ability to unleash the scary form of his game that will destroy his opponents.
Next stop for Federer is an Olympic gold medal.
