Roger Federer will not win Wimbledon 2010
Roger Federer is in serious danger of losing at the All England Club without any measure of speculation at all. However, the truth of the matter is that Federer is a little nervous as well.

Wimbledon’s 2010 edition is just around the corner and will start in a couple of day’s time. Nadal who is the reigning champion of the French Open 2010 has elevated himself to the top pedestal once again. Rafa defeated Robin Soderling in the finals of the French Open in straight sets to prove to the world that he still was the ‘king of clay’. Due to Soderling’s exceptional performance, he has powered onto the sixth spot on tour.

This season’s Wimbledon will be held between 21st of June and the 4th of July. Federer, who is defending champion from last year, will definitely try to defend his title once again. Federer defeated Andy Roddick in last year’s final match to earn the crown.

Coral has priced Federer at +150 (3/2) for the grass court grand slam. Out of his last seven appearances in Wimbledon, the big man has won six of them. However, his performance after the 2010 Australian Open victory has been dropped down. Since February, a couple of players including Robin Soderling, Marcos Baghdatis, Rafael Nadal, Tomas Berdych, Albert Montanesas along with Ernests Gulbis has managed to defeat Roger Federer on different tours.

Federer won his last title in Melbourne after winning the Cincinnati Master Tournament. Federer was able to walk over all the above mentioned players in 2010 except Rafael Nadal, which reflects the decline of the Swiss maestro in the 2010 season. However, one cannot ignore the fact that the big man is 29-years-old and has seen his golden era of tennis. Nikolay Davydenko who is known as the fitness guru of tennis is the only player in the list of ATP top ten players who is older than Federer. So aging is definitely affecting Federer’s game at the moment.

If Roger Federer were to challenge the upcoming 12 Grand Slam tournaments for 2011, then one can easily predicted that he may win only one or two titles. However, Federer is the kind of player who will power through and win the tournament with ease especially when everyone around him starts to believe that the Swiss is finished.

On the other hand, Nadal's goal to win the 2010 Wimbledon Championship may not be as huge as others may think.  What is totally missing in his career so far is the U.S. Open title and probably he would be raring to win that title too.

Boylesports has priced Andy Roddick at +1200 (12/1) for Wimbledon due to his superb from and shape in the hard court swing in America. Federer’s wish to achieve his first Wimbledon title cannot be suspected at all. His career will not be evaluated to be complete until he does not have the U.S. tournament in his bag.

Tomas Berdych, who is expected to perform well for the first time in the tour due to his brilliant form is priced at +5000 (50/1) with Blue Square.

All these three tennis players have certainly more chances to clinch the Wimbledon 2010 as compared to Federer. There is a huge difference in the style, form, fitness as well as energy level between Federer’s 2010 performance if compared with his class in the 2003 to 2009 seasons.

Coral and Boylesports have the highest odds at +150 (3/2) for those who are supporting Roger Federer.

Federer can succeed, but this time round, a lot more effort and hard work is required in order to win the throne at Wimbledon. Experts predict that this year’s edition will prove to be a much tougher season.

However, who knows that the big man, who is still ranked as the number one tennis player in the world turns out to be himself once again in order to prove his critics wrong. And surely Roger Federer has the ability to do so but will he be able to do it?
