Roger Ingram expecting a strong show from Atlantis Crossing
Roger Ingram is hopeful that his challenger, Atlantis Crossing, will manage to meet the expectations of everyone in the Casino At Coral.co.uk Handicap, which is a class-4 event, scheduled to take place at Wolverhampton in England on Tuesday, January 15,
2013.
The Irish challenger has been rated as the favourite to succeed and will definitely be a tough nut to crack. He has been some decent results over the past few months, thus his confidence level will be good.
Atlantis Crossing was unable to win his most recent race at this venue, as he ended up as a runner up by a small distance. He was in a good position to claim the top spot, but things did not work out well in his favour in the end. He was not rated as the
favourite to succeed back then, so his team would have been pleased with the outcome.
However, Ingram believes that luck did not favour his runner last time around and things could be different today.
He stated, “He's very well and he was very unlucky last time, he got baulked at just the wrong time and Nathan thought he would have won with a clear run. Having a few front-runners in the race will suit him - they should take him along nicely.”
Overall, Atlantis Crossing has entered 18 races, winning four of them and finished as a runner up on a couple of times. In addition to that, he has secured the third spot once, which shows that he has the capability of fighting for the top-three positions.
Wolverhampton has been a lucky ground for the young gelding, as he has managed to win a couple of competitions here whereas finished as a runner up once. Today will be his fourth appearance on this racecourse and he will definitely head out with a lot of
confidence.
On the other hand, David O'Meara is hopeful of a strong show, courtesy to his runner, Creek Falcon.
The trainer said, “He's having his first run for us after we bought him out of Paul Deegan's yard and we'll learn a lot about him today. He won over a mile in Ireland and he could need a mile.”
