Roger Mayweather: Miguel Cotto will get squashed by Floyd Mayweather – Boxing news
Roger Mayweather, trainer Floyd Mayweather Junior bashed Miguel Cotto, the current WBA (Super) light middleweight champion and Floyd’s opponent by saying that does not possess the talent, courage, abilities, and agility requisite to nail the invincible Floyd
in a one-on-one bout and he will be squashed on May 5, 2012.
Floyd and Miguel are scheduled to take on each other in a 12-round skirmish staged at MGM Grand Garden Arena situated in Las Vegas, Nevada. The bout will have Miguel’s light middleweight gold on the line. Both men are impressive pugilists and possess unique
records that separate them from the rest of the brawlers in their divisions.
Miguel had been in a total 39 brawls and has lost just two encounters. He lost his only two bouts against Antonio Margarito and Manny Pacquiao. Cotto squared his previous defeat against Antonio by nailing him recently in the month of December via tenth round
retired hurt.
Miguel, renowned as the ‘Junito’, possesses a kayo percentage of 76.92 by collecting 30 of his wins by knock out. Despite of his impressive resume Roger thinks that he will be unable to inflict maximum damage to his nephew Floyd. Roger says that Miguel does
boast a massive body as compared to Floyd and also has impressive knockout ability but both these aspects will be useless if he does not have the agility required to outclass the swift Floyd.
Roger almost offensively commented that, “He [Cotto] ain’t that skilled. He got whopped by [Manny] Pacquiao, so he ain’t that skilled! The only thing I see Cotto can do is punch. Other than that, he ain’t got anything for my nephew. The only thing he can
do is punch. That’s all he can do, but they all can punch!”
The above comment is evident of the fact that the former two-time world champion thinks of Cotto as a punch thrower who does not know how to fight. Roger went on saying that Floyd is fast, he is considered as the swiftest brawler in the whole boxing world.
Nobody has ever achieved the speed with which Floyd throws his fists.
Floyd is undefeated in his lengthy career. He has won all 42 of his brawls and has emphatically collected 26 of his wins by kayoing his opponents out cold. Roger was of the view that if Miguel wants to get out of the ring in one piece he must come out with
a solution to cater Floyd’s speed and agility.
