Roger Mayweather thinks Juan Manuel Marquez not an easy target for Manny Pacquiao – Boxing News
The senior member of the Mayweather clan, Roger Mayweather, believes that the World Boxing Association’s, World Boxing Organisation’s and the Ring Magazine’s Lightweight World Champion, Juan Manuel Marquez, is not going to be an easy opponent for the eight-division
world champion, Manny Pacquiao.
The 37-year-old Mexican pugilist, Juan Manuel, will take on the Fighting Pride of Philippines, Manny Pacquiao, in November at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas
Former International Boxing Organisation’s super featherweight champion, Roger, admitted that Pacquiao, who has won 53 of his 58 fights including 38 by the way of a knockout, has beaten a few boxers who he thought Pacquiao would never beat but on the same
note he said this time it’s not going to be easy.
This is the third time these two are going to face each other and therefore Roger believes Manuel would have prepared for all of Pacquiao tricks. “Pacquiao has stopped guys that I never thought he would,” said Roger. “He had him down three times altogether.
I think it's still going to be a hard fight because they know one another.”
In the end the 50-year-old Roger commented on his nephew Floyd Mayweather’s chances against Manny Pacquiao, which is one of the most eagerly awaited fights of the decade. He stated it is going to be one of the biggest fights in boxing history and it will
also be the biggest in terms of gross.
Roger remarked that a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight will happen one day because Floyd is still in the world of boxing.
While speaking to reporters he also added, “Mayweather-Pacquiao is going to be the biggest fight in the history of boxing. The highest grossing fight in this time in boxing was Floyd and De La Hoya. And you know a Floyd and Pacquiao fight is going to gross
more than that. It's going to happen.” He joked that if the fight did not take place then it would be the ‘biggest fight that didn’t happen’. Lets hope that this does not come true and fans get to see the fight soon.
