Roger outclassed Rafael in World Tour Finals event in London
The current world number two Swiss tennis star Roger Federer has successfully brushed off his veteran arch rival Rafael Nadal to clinch the marvellous trophy of the tennis season’s final (Association of Tennis Professionals) World Tour Finals
tennis event, which was held at the O2 Arena in London.
It is also to be noted that the Swiss legend tennis star Federer has won the tennis season’s final tournament for the fifth time in his sparkling professional tennis career. Before the match, the current world number one tennis champion Rafael Nadal had
a psychological advantage over the former world number one Roger Federer as Nadal had won fourteen matches out of twenty two matches played against the Swiss. But in the match, Federer dominated the court pretty well and proved to be a bit too tough for the
Spaniard.
The World Tour Finals tennis tournament’s title was the sixty sixth tennis title for the twenty nine years old Swiss tennis giant. In the match both the tennis veterans gave each other a very strong challenge and showed the best game of tennis. It was a
three setter stamina jolting battle of tennis between Roger and Rafael which was successfully won by the sixteen Grand Slam titles winner after a real tough challenge.
Before entering into the tournament in London, Federer had expressed his eagerness at clutching the world number one title back from his arch rival Rafael Nadal and the victory in the final match against Nadal has proved that Federer is ready for it.
Federer snatched the victory of the first set of the match in just thirty two minutes by displaying a jaw dropping game of tennis. The Swiss broke Nadal in the eighth game of the set. Federer served pretty well in the match and displayed some smashing aces
as well.
On the other hand, the twenty-four year old Rafael Nadal seemed a little out of touch and displayed a weaker game as compared to his game against Andy Murray in the semi final of the tournament. However the world number one recovered tremendously well in
the match and clinched the second set of the match and made Federer suffer. The second set of the match was of thirty-four minutes in which Federer tried his luck to take lead over Nadal but all of his efforts went in vain.
The third and the decider set of the match was pretty interesting as the Swiss champion gave his best and regained the momentum. Federer saved a break point at a very crucial stage. Later he broke his Spanish rival in the sixth game of the third set. Federer
settled the brawl by smashing an ace and snatching the glorious victory by 6-3, 3-6 and 6-1.
After the match, Roger Federer expressed his views and said that it was a very good tournament and it was a great challenge by the Spaniard Rafael Nadal. Federer admired the game of his Spanish rival and said that Nadal is a great player and the current
year has been a very good year for him. Federer added that Rafael has won three major titles this year which is no doubt a proof of his strong capacity and great performance this year.
On the other hand Rafael Nadal also looked pretty satisfied with his performance. Nadal told the media about his thoughts and said that it was a great tournament for him and he is very happy to make it to the final of the event.
Rafael congratulated Roger over the victory and said that Roger played tremendously well and it was a very well deserving victory for the Swiss tennis ace. Nadal continued that it was great year for him and he is happy that he has performed quite well this
season.
