Question:

Rogers Text Messaging - 2,500 messages = North America?

So I have the Rogers text messaging plan that costs $10 for 2,500 messages. I got yelled at this morning because I got charged $90 for "US - Text Messaging", but if I recall correctly, it should be free for all texts sent in North America. I asked my dad and I told him, "it was never like that before" but in reply he said "yes it has". Now, I asked my friends about this and a few of them told me they have changed it a few months ago without any notice. Another one of my friends however are continuing to text the USA without any charges.

Can anyone verify that it is free for NA? Or that they changed it? Thanks!

  1. You are correct, this was just changed in July.  The following message can be found on the text messaging section of the Rogers.com website:

"Please note that effective July 15th, 2008, the rate for sending a text message from Canada to the United States is changing to 25 cents and will no longer be available in the Domestic Text Messaging Plans."

This information was also printed on the "Rogers Bulletin Board" section of the June invoice.  If your dad has a copy of that invoice, he can refer to this section to confirm that you were right.
