  1. Ive had the opportunity to play a few of Rogues basses, and in my opinion, they are not very good instruments at all.  Hey.. a 6 string bass for 229?  The basses ive played have had lousy tuning keys, very poor frets and a few set up so bad from the factory that they were not even playable.  The bridge pickup on these is EXTREMELY noisy, and not sure what that's from.

If I was going to get an entry level 6 string bass, I would get a Peavey Grind NTB.  They run in the ballpark of about 430, and are great basses for the money.  One thing ive seen with Peavey Basses over the years... they are the makers of the Cirrus line, which are very expensive and high quality basses.  On their lower end basses, Peavey keeps the quality very consistent and very good.  While I have played Cirrus 5 and 6 string basses for years now, I have also recently purchased a couple of the Grind series basses.  While they are not in the same league as the Cirrus, they are still very playable and high quality guitars.  You would have no problem taking these basses to the stage night after night, as they are very good sounding and dependable instruments.

Hope this has helped.... and keep playin!

  2. From what I've seen of Rogue instruments, I wouldn't expect too much from this bass. They're cheap instruments.  You'd be better off to spend your money on a better quality 4-string bass, IMO.
