In a much awaited warm-up encounter between the arch-rivals, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 and company by five wickets, chasing down a massive total of 185 runs with five balls to spare.
The Indian bowling, apart from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Malik-c90088 snatching the game from India’s jaws in the last nine overs.
Rohit, who himself scored a brilliant half-century in the first innings, still backs his bowlers to come good in the tournament on the back of their performance in the first warm-up match against the home team, where the under-fire bowling lineup defended
a mediocre total.
"It was one of those bad days, I would say," Rohit said. "If you look at the last game against Sri Lanka, the bowlers got plenty of wickets. We defended a low score on that track, 145-odd runs. I am sure we will come hard against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Afghanistan-c745 and [do well]
from there on."
The 25-year-old cricketer admitted that India had a bad day in the field but thinks that the side will be in the right frame of mind before their opening round game against Afghanistan on Wednesday.
"We still have one more day before our actual game on 19th, so we will see how we should come back. It is not the end, it is just the start. Still a long way to go in the tournament, unfortunately things didn't go our way today," he
added.
