Having clinched the title in the sixth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) by beating Chennai Super Kings in the final, Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians’ captain, has expressed his delight but admitted
that taking charge of the side in the middle of the tournament was not easy.

Sharma was asked to take up the responsibility during the mid-season.
The right-handed batsman, however, did a superb job and impressed one and all with his ability to take correct decisions under pressure, which is reflected by the team’s performance.
The stylish batsman admitted that it was not easy for him to take charge of the side but revealed that he was mentally prepared to be given the responsibility.
"It was tough when we changed our captain," Rohit said while talking to the IPL website. "It was not easy to come in suddenly to do the job. But I have really enjoyed this role since the moment http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ricardo-Gouveia-c84824
stepped down and I was handed the captaincy. I knew the responsibility would fall on my shoulders since I was vice-captain for two years.”
The Maharashtra-born cricketer is over the moon to have led his native city to the title triumph.  
"It is simply amazing to win the IPL title with Mumbai, my hometown. The way we performed shows the character of the team. It was not an easy victory and I am really happy. I have no words to describe
this feeling," the middle-order batsman added.
Having successfully led the franchise to its first IPL victory, Sharma is now considered to be a future option by many former cricketers to lead the country. For that to happen, however, Rohit would
have to first cement his place in the national side.
