Roisin Dubh favourite for GAA Club 125th anniversary (Fillies & Mares) INH Flat Race
Roisin Dubh has the best chances of winning the Ballinrobe GAA Club 125th anniversary (Fillies & Mares) INH Flat Race at Ballinrobe in Ireland on Monday, May 28, 2012. The winner of the race will walk away with a cash prize of €4,830.
The going is will be good in the 2 mile event, which is scheduled to start at 21:00 GMT. A total of 16 runners have been attracted towards the race and their names are as follows: Dani Catalonia, Roisin Dubh, Parramatta, Flags Flying, Freefairngenuine, Midsummer
Drama, Turtle Mist, Gold Platinum, Belle Bora, Oh Lucky Me, Go On Girl, Celtic Oir, Appeal To Connie, Definite Impulse, Pestal And Mortar and Cole Dutches.
Out of the above mentioned runners, Oh Lucky Me is doubtful for the race. She had a very good chance of bringing up her maiden victory today, as most of the participants are relatively inexperienced.
The five-year-old mare has taken part in three races until now and the best she could manage was a runner up position once.
In the absence of Oh Lucky Me, the best chances of victory seem to be with Roisin Dubh. Although she lacks experience, her stamina is very good. This will definitely help her make a solid impression in the race at Ballinrobe.
The six-year-old mare has entered just one race in her career and she managed to finish fifth in it. Her performance was not bad at all, considering the fact that there were 17 participants in the event. She did not get a clean run, but showed good stamina
towards the end, which was an encouraging sign.
Roisin Dubh will be partnered by Mr N. M. Kelly, who is new to the sport, but seems to be a very good rider. Although he does not have a lot of experience, his strike rate is impressive. It will be interesting to see whether he can make an impression at
Ballinrobe or not.
On the other hand, Dani Catalonia might also make a solid impression in the race, as she is a decent runner. She has only taken part in one event until now, but failed to make an impression in it.
However, the Willie Mullins’ trainee has the skills to give a tough time to her opponents today.
