Roja Dove chasing victory in Burleigh Accountants Handicap
Roja Dove has got a chance of winning the second consecutive race of her career, by succeeding in the Burleigh Accountants Handicap at Ballinrobe in Ireland on Monday, August 13, 2012. She has not raced at this venue before, but will be looking for a strong
run today.
Looking at the statistics of all runners, it is clear that no one is in a position to dominate the proceedings at Ballinrobe. The real competition in the 1 mile 1 furlong event will be between Roja Dove and Wot A Shot.
Both the runners have been rated quite highly for the race, but the former has managed to win the confidence of the bookmakers more than anyone, as she has been given the best odds for victory. She will enter the event with a starting price of 3 to 1 and
the punters will definitely risk quite a few bets in her favour, as she is carrying the winning momentum right now.
The three-year-old filly started off her career in March 2012 and was unable to make an impression in her first ever race. She was priced 25 to 1 back then and lacked the speed to come anywhere closer to the top three. She was a touch nervous and had to
settle for sixth place in the end.
Things did not improve for the K. J. Condon’s trainee in her next race, as she finished fourth out of six runners. Her speed looked a touch better that time, but it was not enough to put her in contention of a victory.
In her third consecutive race at Dundalk, Roja Dove failed to deliver once more and the venue turned out to be extremely unlucky for her. She was then given some rest before her most recent event, which she managed to win by a neck distance.
Jeremy’s daughter was given a general starting price of 10 to 1 last time around and she took everyone by surprise in the end. Although, the conditions were not easy for her in that race, yet she managed to put together a solid effort.
C. O'Donoghue will be the one partnering Roja Dove at Ballinrobe. The pair has come together for the first time.
