Roker Park to take down Dickie Le Davoir in the King Richard III Handicap

The Class 3 King Richard III Handicap will witness the participation of fourteen three-year and above runners who will contest over the six furlong distance in order to get entitled to the £6,412 prize money. The race at Pontefract has brought together a
combination of participants who have already posted their seasonal successes along with those who are waiting for the chance to make an impact.
The most celebrated entry for the race is the 11 to 2 shot, Roker Park, Choisir’s seven-year-old bay gelding. He has been active four times during the new season out of which the only decent ranking that he could post on the record was through the most recent
outing.
David O’Meara’s under charge kick started the season with the William Birch & Sons Construction Stakes (Handicap) on 16th May, 2012 at the York race course over six furlongs.
The race was won by Secret Witness who kept the runner-up, Baby Strange, adrift by just half a length.
Taking up the fourteenth position in the field of nineteen was, Roker Park.
The second attempt of the Directors Cup Handicap Stakes on 6th June, 2012 at the Ripon race course over six furlongs, did not see the bay gelding out of mare, Joyful, improving much. He ended sixth while the favourite entry, Pearl Ice, dominated
the track of thirteen.
Finishing the closest to the winner was, Beckermet.
The Barclays Handicap on 22nd June, 2012 at the Ayr race course over six furlongs had him finishing fifth with ten others racing. Head Space, the favourite entry, won by a margin of 2 ¼ lengths.
On 30th June, 2012 at Newcastle over seven furlongs, the Trevor Alderson & Partners owned ended third in the Betfred Bonus King Bingo Handicap.
After leaving from the eighth gate, the Irish bay gelding took his due place in the final furlong against the winner, Memory Cloth, and the runner-up, Brae Hill.
The ride for Kieren Fallon will need to look out for the eight-year-old bay gelding, Dickie Le Davoir who won the title back in 2008 and 2009. If he will try to break the 2011 drought and win it this year around with the 16 to 1 shot will come out in the
open soon.
