  1. The average French citizen watches 23 hours of TV per week. This compares to 28 hours per week in the USA and the UK according to Andries van den Broek, 'Leisure across Europe'

Here is a file showing TV viewing by age:

  2. Wow, that's really a difficult question.  Maybe, you might get the answer(s) of your questions at Yahoo France or Google France, but you have to search in French language...

I only can tell you that French loves watching TV, as people in other countries does as well....But, I have no excact numbers of their preferences.  All I know is that French movies are very strong on TV there and I also love watching French TV.  I have access to 10 French TV channels...

My advice: ask your questions to several French TV stations - just find their websites and send 'em an email!!!

    Greetings from Germany...

  3. average 3 to 4H a day.  (like in other countrys old people stay for hourssssss in front of :) )

Preference ?... movies, news, cultural and documentaries

  4. Im not sure exactly but im doing a similar essay & got that...

En moyenne les Francais consacrent chaque jour 3 heures 20 a la tele.

Another source says its 127 minutes per day, the top usage of free time from a survey by L'INSEE.

Good luck with the search, no doubt i'll be doing my essay all day! xx
