  1. If you accept that everyone is different and that we all need help in different areas, if you believe that all people have value and deserve dignity regardless of societal views, then you are already playing the proper role.

  2. I not sure if this is what you are looking for. I work at a High School with low functioning autistics. I help them with there IEP goals on a daily bases. Help them with their PECS schedule. Encourage them to do their work, and try to help them before and during a melt down.  We try to keep a calm classroom for them, at least try. The staff I work with are very calm and patient.

Some things you can do is volunteer in a autism class, with special Olympics, or some other related cause, go to www.autism-society.org to find a local chapter.

I also like to recommend this book to any one who wants to know more about autism. Its called 'Ten Thinks every Child with Autism wants you to know'. Check out this web site. www.ellennotbohm.com/ten_things_book.htm...

  3. I'm not sure what you mean .My son has a DX of aspergers and please feel free to email me and maybe i could be more helpful.

  4. Autism is the most common condition in a group of developmental disorders know as the autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). Autism is characterized by impaired social interaction problems with verbal and nonverbal communication, and unusual, repetitive, or severely limited activities and interests. The roles we can play to be more receptive towards these individuals would be a teacher role. Of course patience plays a lot of influence in the role.
