Roller skating... Big issue

Question

I just got new roller skates. The problem is, I want to skate on the street, but even the smallest hill makes me go really fast and I don't know how to slow down. I am using the black break on my right roller skate, but it's just not working,

i kno the back brakes dont work so if ur always going to fast just skate by grass and when u pick up to much speed just ride into the grass it will really slow u down
