Question:

Rollercoaster: standard panic attack or was something truly wrong?

I've never had a panic attack before so I don't know what they're like.

This was my first time. It was the Gwazi at Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL. Never been on a roller coaster, I was really nervous standing in line, pacing about, mind racing. I can't believe I ended up getting on it...but I kinda just did somehow, nervous as ever.

While I was on it, there were pretty much two things going on: I broke the record for the fastest number of times the phrase "holy ****" having been said in under a minute and I also felt like I was LITERALLY TRYING not have a heart attack.

It was like I knew my heart was beating so fast and I was mentally trying to clam it down.

Soon as ever, it was over and I was fine.

So was this just your standard panic attack or was something really wrong?

I was 19 at the time, healthy, not overweight. No history of heart-related problems, minus "heart flutter" but I've heard that's a virtually harmless condition.

Should I attempt to go on another again?

  1. Most of the people who say they are scared or nervous of rides are thinking all the negative things that might happen while they are on the roller coaster. Think positive stop thinking about it so much. Your young healthy enjoy roller coasters while you still can. Life is short to worry about little things When you go on it just scream as loud as you can

They have lots of videos on youtube before you go watch the on ride video over and over so you know what to expect. It is how they treat people with roller coaster anxty

  2. Don't worry, it wasn't a panic attack but it wasn't anything serious either. You were probably just nervous.

  3. mind over matter.

your mind was saying that you were scared, so your body was telling you fell bad so dont go on it.

you can on it again just remember it isnrt as bad as it seems

  4. I did that my first time on Millennium Force. Now it's my favorite coaster. =D

  5. I know people who like roller coasters who still get freaked out by Gwazi.  That one just feels like at any moment, the train is going to fly off the tracks, which is great if you like that, but if you're scared of roller coasters, it's not the one to pick.
